Exif-Remove
Häufig sind in Bild-Dateien geheime Zusatzinformationen verborgen, die zahlreiche, über das eigentliche Motiv des Bildes hinausgehende Informationen enthalten. Neben eher allgemeinen Daten, wie z.B. Datum/Uhrzeit, Belichtungszeit und Brennweite der Aufnahme, sind zunehmend neben vielen anderen Details auch der Name des Bild-Erstellers, GPS-Koordinaten des Aufnahmeorts und Copyright-Hinweise enthalten. Die Rückverfolgung eines Bildes zu seinem Ersteller ist somit oft problemlos möglich.
Diese Informationen können VON JEDEM problemlos ausgelesen werden!
Es ist also höchste Vorsicht geboten, wenn private Bilder ins Internet gestellt werden!
In Zusammenarbeit mit Exif-Remove.de ist nun ein Plugin für die bekannte Blogging-Platform “WordPress” entwickelt worden, das dabei hilft, sämtliche Zusatzinformationen automatisch aus hochgeladenen Bildern zu löschen. Nach Aktivierung des Plugins werden JPG-Dateien beim Upload automatisch bereinigt (nähere Informationen befinden sich in der beigefügten readme.txt). Auf diese Weise werden nur noch bereinigte Bilder im eigenen Blog verwendet und bieten keinerlei Angriffsfläche mehr.

Uncertain if it’s my Machine only because I still have no free time to upgrade so am continue to using G chome 3 but when looking at your web site I came across some kind of unusual code all over the website . It states this with a large amount of extra text after it, similar to Error: Not possible modify footer information … and so on. It’s a bit unusual mainly because for me my own site cheap flights along with widely used sort such as by way of example google.com and yahoo.com do show up with out trouble.
maybe we can get a newer version of this plugin, compatible with wordpress 3?
just discovered it and when installing i get the message :
The plugin generated 2 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Is it possible to run this plugin on pictures that have already been uploaded to a wordpress site?
Not currently. I’m going to check if it’s possible to add this functionality without too big effort. How many pictures do you have? Where are they located on your installation (i.e. “wp-content/uploads”)? Are the uploads sorted into year- and month-based sub-folders?
